OUR HISTORY

After moving to the Dalworth Community in the City of Grand Prairie, the Lord placed a burden of souls on the heart of Pastor W. E. Roberts for the people living in the Dalworth area.  In 1945, the work began with two or more families from the community.  The mission for the Lord began with prayer services and Bible studies, which was held from house to house.  They also conducted revivals on the porches of the families.

In the spring of 1945, the first building was built at 1913 Sherman Street.  The first service began around June 1, 1945.  It was through praying and fasting that the Lord began to bless, and souls were added to the church from the results of our faith.  With membership growing over many years, additions to the church space were needed to accommodate the growth in membership.

Keeping with the vision of continuous growth the Lord put in the heart of Dr. Roberts to incorporated Lighthouse Church of God in Christ, we then became Lighthouse Deliverance Church of God in Christ.

Over the many years that we have been established, the Lord has called many of our members from labor to reward.  In April 2003, the Lord added to that reward list our founder Dr. W.E. Roberts and in September 2004, he added First Lady Juanita Roberts.

In June 2003, God sent us a pastor after His own heart, Elder C.V. Simpkins, Jr.  And Lighthouse is still vibrant and moving forward in ministry.
